"TIME" by Hans Zimmer

CONTEMPLATION

I

The love between two people is Unconquerable.
The Heavens are in their place.
The Earth is in its place.

These Multiverses,
merely constituent elements
within our ever-expanding Universe.

And all rest within the Unconquerable Love
of GOD Himself,
However, and by what means,
We frail humankind comprehend this Deity.

Dark minds will gladly enter
and peddle their dirty vicious wares
as being an example of true enlightenment.

Look no further than Iran in 2022
to see Mohomed’s fetid breath
and farting hole
insisting this is the voice of their god.

That’s it.
Stick that stenching stanza
over there in the corner.
It has no place here.

II

Let us not think of Judgments.
Let us not sow fear where
He intended no fear to be.
Let us instead believe in life everlasting
regardless of faith, religion or creed
for then we WILL most surely have His Ear.

He will never abandon us
He will never visit upon us the anger
that the ancients reported.

No
He is the Alpha and the Omega,
The First and The Last,
and In Whom there is No Ending,
No Ending at all.

Blasting asunder conspiracy theories,
Ending once and for all
endless End Time Revelation.

That is an incredible assurance
I do counsel all of us to read between the lines
to discern His true intent.

For then we shall lift unnecessary burdens from ourselves
and be better able to live the lives
He intends us so to do,
while this side of the veil.

In my thinking and reasoning, I find myself moving way, way, way beyond religion.

I do not turn my back on my faith. Faith advances upon the battlements of religions and entrenched attitudes and sees in every religion elements of beauty, truth, and a common theme, that draws us to the awe and wonder of Creation.

Some may want to know the framework upon which this poem is constructed. In short, faith. But I know this will be unacceptable to some.

For me, the framework is Psalm 114, John 1:1-5, both of which are underpinned by Matthew 6: 9-13 and Luke 11: 2-4, culminating in Revelation 22:13 and for me personally, the rendering either of the New King James Version (NKJV) but preferably the King James Version (KJV).

AND GOING ON

 I

Do I kneel to pray?
No.
For if I do I cannot rise again unaided.
Do I have set times to pray?
No.
For then I too quickly fall prey to rote,
and mindless rendition,
the brain disengaged,
but self happily going through the motions.

II

Do I repudiate the Man?
No.

I AM WHO I AM
I AM THE ETERNAL SELF-EXISTING ONE
THERE IS NO OTHER, SAVE ME,
I, MY FATHER AND MY SPIRIT ARE ONE

III

Do I recite Matthew or Luke?
Yes,
As often as I need to.

IV

Do I go to that most secret place?
Yes.
For that is where He Himself tells me to meet Him.

You ask me where it is.

That is for me, only.

Just as your secret place
is for you and you alone.

Do I find true peace?
Yes.

In the maelstrom of daily life,
for that is surely what every life is
this side of the veil,
I find that peace which He promised
and which never fails me,
even though my passage may be
rough, terrifying even,
and one day ending in death

V

Does that day frighten me?
No.
Because I will then be safe with Him
on the Veil's Other Side
where my work continues, unhindered.

What does frighten me
is being able to make the grade
in the here and now,
in the possibility that very hard times
might be ahead,
and about which I will receive little or no sympathy.

Is it close?
I know not.

Only He knows the time of summoning …
For my part,
I must not waste my life,
I need not panic.
He gives me the allotted time.

VI

Yes, the year, day, hour, minute approacheth,
but I worry not.
For He, Himself has said
not to worry about the future,
but to concern myself with only
this day's tasks
for they alone are more than
enough to cope with.

And so I lay me down to sleep
beneath the canopy of stars,
observing His wondrous endeavours
in a trillion lives,
all in an instant,
in full knowledge, too,
that He cannot be gainsaid.

It cannot be otherwise!

VII

And above all,
Knowing that
This Creation,
This Multiverse,
This UNIVERSE
lasts in infinity …
beyond time,
beyond accepted understanding,
never-ending.

This, beyond my comprehension,
is that which gives me hope.

A hope from which burgeons forth
that most blessed word of all:
