Good Friday ~ Compassion | Gute Freitag ~ die Barmherzigkeit

Regardless of what we think about the veracity of the overall presentation by humankind of salvation, we do know that the Crucifixion is a historical event. How we interpret this event, is for the individual.

Compassion : Good Friday | die Barmherzigkeit : Gute Freitag

And gazing upon their anger and frustration…
How dare He heal upon the Sabbath
‘By what authority do you do these things?’
they demanded

He flashed a brilliance
Within His Eyes
That smote them sore,
Who is this Man?
They pondered

And then with devastating erudition
Quoting the very Word by which they intended
to convict Him
His gaze took in every man
Every Rabbi
Every Scribe
Every Pharisee

“’I will have mercy upon whom I will have mercy,
and I will have compassion upon whom I will have compassion,
says The LORD’”

They bristled with indignation
What?
Is He mad?
Is He deranged?
He likens Himself to The Most High!

No! Shouted another
It is worse
He has quoted the Scriptures
He saith that He IS The Most High

They dared not move
In an instant His Deity flashed
And was gone
He left them

They signed His death warrant
And unwittingly thereby
Brought Salvation to all
